A Walk to the Shops

Yesterday my sister asked me to walk to the shop (2 miles away) to get a drink and some ice-lollies. These are some of the pictures I took on the way there.

Animated Inanimate Object Battles - First Episode Tomorrow!

The First Episode of Animated Inanimate Object Battles will be uploaded tomorrow.

A Day in Carryduff with Luna

Yesterday I had to wake up very early at noon and get ready to go to Luna's house in Carryduff. It is only 26 miles away, but the twisting roads and fluctuating bends makes it prime conditions for travel sickness.

I managed to survive the journey to the house without being sick. Here I met with Luna and went to the kitchen for lunch.

"I'll get you a drink now" she said... SMASH. As she stretched into the cupboard to pull out a glass it shattered... Leaving the glass in a state of no use.

Oh Dear.
After lunch we took a walk to the Carryduff Reservoir. Which involved walking along side a busy road... WITH TRAFFIC LIGHTS...

Traffic Lights!

So, there isn't really much else to write. It was really fun but I was so tired afterwards! Whoopaloop.

Wowhoo! My 8000th Photograph (Since 25th December 2010)

I spent today in Carryduff (I'll create a post about that tomorrow) and I was so happy to take my 8000th photograph! It may not look like much of an artistic photograph, and it isnt, but it's my eight-thousandth picture!...

The Cat Lady's Cat

Right, well. A few days ago I posted about my old cat Phoebe who died on the road. My good friend, the Cat Lady, just wanted assurance that her cat is still alive and kickin'. So... HERE IS YOUR WONDERFUL CAT...

My Old Cat Phoebe

My favourite pet of all time has to be my old cat Phoebe. Who, like the Friends character she was named after, was funny, weird and hyper.

Originally, I had given Phoebe to my sister as a Christmas present, only she had no interest in looking after this fascinating cat. After only a few days of owning Phoebe, she was chucked out. Of course, I adopted her and let her stay in my room.

Phoebe decided all the major changes in my bedroom. She was the one who give consent to repaint the room and she also ordered a rearrangement of the furniture. With her natural leadership and climbing ambition it wasn't long before she was crowned "Queen Phoebe".

But Phoebe could not handle the publicity, the pressure. She began to wreck the kingdom in which she lived, eventually being outcast. However, I could not watch Queen Phoebe cry outside in the rain; I left my window at night, something Queen Phoebe appreciated deeply. As the months went by, Queen Phoebe would return with new wonderful stories each night. It was obvious that she was expanding her jurisdiction to the outside world.

It wasn't long before the outdoor creatures began to respect Phoebe as Queen. She was loved among the cats, dogs and even the mice. However, an unexpected blow brought Phoebes reign to a grinding finish.

It was the day that Queen Phoebe had decided to expand her Kingdom further. Now awaiting a permit to pass laws on the opposite side of the road, she would often cross the lane to hold meetings with the cows. One night, on her return to the bedroom, she did not look both ways and was struck in the head by an unknown vehicle.

This is the exact road of her death and an end of an era.

A Day at Tollymore Forest Park

Yesterday I went to Tollymore with my family and friends for a picnic and a walk. It was a fairly average picnic, but the walk was anything but average. We got lost, met a vampire, a poisonous dog and a mugger…

Livi's Smiley Jam Yoghurt

The walk would have been a lot less eventful, I suppose, if we hadn’t of gotten lost. The forest full of tall trees and giant boulders had a river flowing through middle, so we thought it best to follow that. With me on the walk was my little sister, my cousin and my friend Livi. Little did we know, we were following a track that would lead us to a world of strange happenings.

The first unusual event was the dog that approached us. As my little sister bent down to stroke it, I realised the dog looked identical to the Poison Dart Dog of the Amazon.
“Don’t touch it! It could be poisonous!” I warned my sister, loudly enough that the dogs
owners glared at me with confusion.

After a close escape with the Dart Dog we travelled further into the forest. Still lost, we had no idea of the path to lead us back to the car park we came from. My little cousin, the most sensible one, urged us to ask for directions – a tactic we did not carry out for at least another hour.

We continued down the path, suddenly, a fully grown man lurched down the hill in our direction. He was dressed in ragged clothes and wore a pull-over face mask. Instinctively Livi clutched my arm in fear. Was this a forest bandit rocketing towards us? Apparently not. The guy obviously realised the misunderstanding and after removing the face mask he apologised for any fear inflicted.

The shadows of the trees became darker as we followed the river even deeper. We realised the most interesting occurrence. Perched high in the tree was what seemed to be a vampire: pale white, stone cold and he didn’t go out in sunlight. He smiled as he texted on his mobile phone, which amplified the whiteness of his blood-ridden face. “It’s a vampire. Vampire. Keep walking, there’s a vampire in that tree. A vampire!” I warned the others. After me saying this he grinned, further proving his vampiristic dwellings.

Finally, we took my little cousins advice and asked for directions.
“Are we going the right direction for the car park?” Livi asked hopefully.
“No, I think it’s that way” A passer-by replied, pointing in the opposite direction.
Great, we had been travelling in the complete wrong direction! So, we turned and began to travel back the way we came.

To our delight we had to pass the vampire in the tree again. “That’s a vampire, don’t look at the vampire. Walk away from the vampire” I once again warned the others, loudly enough to remind the vampire who he was.

Luckily, we did not pass the Poison Dart Dog on the way back to the car park. I hear, if you touch them, with-in one minute your hand falls off and after exactly one-hundred and thirteen minutes you turn bright green – Unbelievable the creatures they let into this country.

We eventually found the right path that led us back to the car park. It had been a fun and
interesting walk. It was just slightly longer than we expected.

My Bearded Dragon

Since Christmas a horrible beast has been sharing our living room. With razor sharp claws and armored skin, I was obviously anxious of this new room mate from the start.
It eats the most horrible stuff: locusts. Giant insects that can, yes, fly! They hop around everywhere and the safest place for them to nest is the dragon's own head.
And one day this horrible locust hopped out and is now lost in the living room.

Thought you'd like to know.
I have enjoyed my first day as a Blogger.
Thanks Josh, Olivia, Jude, Honer, Juliette and Louisa (yes, shes real) for visiting! :D
Come back tomorrow for more "fun".

Clouds for Jude, Hey for Honey and Thanks for Livvi

Well, its my first day of blogging! And it has been really fun, so i decided to post two in one day!! :D
My friends friend Jude, who is now my friend, has suggested I talk about clouds... So here goes.... They are evaporated water, rains comes out of them... and apparently everyone one has a silver lining?? Below is a photo i took of clouds!!

And now for Honer!.. Yea, what can I say!? Do you remember those good times in third year when the group would all sit on the floor waiting for the form teacher to come... and Jenny always moaned... Josh always made everyone laugh, no matter what... you always give excellent hugs... It was one of the best years!! And not to mention technology!

And Check this out! I gave Livvi a list of things to draw in one picture and she did it!
"Draw a monkey on a tyre swing that is handing over a river and a crocodile is in the river knitting like an old granny. But the hippo realises the monkey and tries to catch it to eat it. Meanwhile there is a flamingo running after one of her chicks that is heading to provoke the crocodile. All in the while a lion is searching for a zebra which is hiding behind a bush. Now, there are exactly 2 clouds in the sky and the sun is mid-set. The water in murkey green. GO!"

And Thats It for the Random Topic Post of the evening! Although (this ones for someone who will know what I mean) ... I WANT MY BACON!

Welcome to taylorlando.blogspot.com

This beautiful white bird was shot (not literally) outside a hotel in Lanzarote where you could pay €10 to get your photograph taken with it. The above picture was the final one I captured before getting chased away by a Spanish photographer shouting “Enough, enough”.  Tomorrow I will publish another interesting photo of a bird – my favourite photography subject.

This is the first photo on my new blog. Revisit this site daily, though, because new photos are added each day.  I hopefully will not run short of photos to publish; Unlikely, because I have taken 7,000+ since Christmas.

I take photos with a Fujifilm JX530 (14 megapixel, 5x Optical zoom). However, I am currently taking every opportunity to earn extra money for a new Nikon d3100.

Also, my YouTube channel can be found at www.youtube.com/taylorlando . Here you can view daily uploads of extra material related to the photos of this blog.
